I laughed when I saw my friend Terra's blog. She made a football and baseball with her pumpkins. We just mixed colors and don't have a real pattern going on. I guess the purpose is to have fun.

Please...we only made the football and baseball after we painted a bunch of tiny pumpkins in mixed colors. If you look carefully at the picture you'll see one of his masterpieces! :) Seriously though, could your kids be any cuter?! They are so photogenic!
I know it's been awhile since I've lived in the States, but don't you usually carve pumpkins? I guess I'm unaware of this painting trend.
