This Week

I realize I haven't posted in a week, so I thought I would update my blog. Let's see... I hurt my back, it's a little better, but still sore. Last weekend we make silly face pancakes, and went to see Heath, my friend's hubby play at Los Cabos. Olivia loves watching her daddy play drums!
I had a birthday on Tuesday, and a special thanks to my sister who got me flowers and a delicious cake, and to those who called and sent e-mail birthday wishes. I got a call on Tuesday, for a lady in need of a doula, and so I ended up going to the hospital, and attended a birth. I figured I could use some birthday money! Wednesday was a tough day for me, but I got through it, and on Friday after taking Sebastian to school for the last time (since he hates it, and cries every time I leave him, and I'm no longer wiling to pay for him to be miserable), I went to pamper myself. I got a manicure and pedicure ( and thought of you Jennifer!), then went and cashed in a gift certificate I've had for a year for an hour massage! Wow, those things are nice, especially when you back has been hurting for two weeks. I told myself it was my birthday present, since last year, (my 30th) my back was out, and we didn't really celebrate. So.. overall it was a good week!

Friday

Today after we took Evi to school, I was trying to get Sebastian excited about going to school. I said," Today you have Spanish with Mrs. Bishop!!" And he said " I don't speak Spanish, I speak high school".
Then later he asked if he could play computer games, and I said no, so he said."Mom... that really makes my heart hurt!" There is never a dull moment in my day!

Babies

I know everyone knows of someone who is expecting, or wants to be expecting! Last Christmas, we had a horrible ice storm, and now, it seems there are many babies being born!
My friend Yvonne and I are trying to sell some very cute diaper cakes. You can see them at www.youniquetechnique.blogspot.com and we custom make cakes. If there is a price range your wanting to stay in, let us know, and we will work with you. These are really cute for baby shower centerpieces, and everything in the cake is very practical. You can always leave a comment with any ideas that you may have for us. Take a peek and see if there is anything you like!

No Visitors Welcome

I usually love having company. Not now. I have been having some back issues since this weekend. I am in a lot of pain, and would love to get back to normal. I struggle to see Juan having to work full time, do his mowing, and take care of me and the kids. The only position that doesn't hurt is laying flat on my back, which means that the house is trashed, something smells in the kitchen, Evi had to recycle socks this morning, and we haven't eaten a normal meal since Saturday (by normal I mean home cooked meal).
I have been reading, and noticing that my ceiling fan needs to be cleaned, and listening to my kids argue over who is going to pick up Rubys poopy. I was laying in bed, and heard Sebastian say that he needed to be wiped. So, I asked Evi if she could please do it, to which Sebastian said " Why do you always have to wipe me", and Evi responded that she wouldn't have to if he started doing it himself! Then, Sebastian asked if he would run around in undies. "Well... why not? " I hear him scream "YIPEEE!!!" I thought it was funny that they are getting to do a lot of things since mom isn't on top of things.
So, if anyone wants to come visit, your not welcome right now, but we'll take a rain check!

Evi and Me

Today Sebastian had school but Evi didn't, so we had a little time just the two of us. After we got Sebastian off to school, we went to my doctors appointment, that we had to have for the foster care, and I am healthy enough to care for one more child. Then we went to eat sushi at "SushI Train". She told me that she remembered Uncle Jason taking us there, and how much fun she had. Afterwards we went shopping at the Goodwill, then to the library for a free movie and then to Sonic for a mini banana split. Talk about a busy day! But we had fun, and when it was time to go get Sebastian, she started crying and saying she wasn't ready for our day to end. It was a good day.

MEND

Many of you know that I joined a support group called Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death. Let me tell you, it's not a fun group to be a part of, but it is reality. On the anniversary of your loss they send you roses for however many years its been since your loss. Yesterday started out rough, and things calmed down, and then I got the flowers and had a good cry. Thanks to those who left comments, and thanks for letting me vent about my troubles.
I encourage anyone who has had a loss or knows of someone who has, this is a great group! I joined to help out, but can see that it does help people. There web site is www.mend.org

My Magnolia Tree

Two years ago today we lost a little boy. I miss him even though it's not so painful. This was a crazy morning, Sebastian wanted pancakes, but we were running late. Evi couldn't find clean socks, and all the whites were in the washer waiting to be transferred to the dryer. While I was doing that, Sebastian decided chocolate milk sounded good and made himself some, with a big mess, Evi didn't want what was being served in the cafeteria, so I had to rush to make a lunch. Finally.. everyone was out the door, backpacks and lunches too, when Evi said it was too cold and she needed a jacket, so she came back in to get one, and got back to the car without her lunch that she brought in when she came to get the jacket. After a prayer and a kiss, I dropped her off, and when I got back home I saw my magnolia tree. My constant reminder that Paul is gone. I thought. What if I had a child with a severe sickness? What would my morning be like? Would I be frustrated that he took up so much of my time? Would I neglect my other children more, since he needed me more? There are a lot of "what ifs", but I believe that God has a purpose, and one day I will have all my children together, driving me nuts and I will enjoy it!

Word of the day

Ornery- The pictures can speak for themselves...

For Gary

This reminded us of Gary, our friend. Sebastian and Gary have the same collar style.

Buff Girl.

I love that whenever Evi gets home from school, she strips down to undies and gets herself a snack, then relaxes in front of the t.v. Why is it that? Do all kids do that? I mean she is 8, and I am trying to teach her modesty, but she has her own way of doing things. I guess I should let her, she did get 100% on her spelling test that we practiced ALL WEEK!!
Things are progressing with the foster paperwork. I spent an 2 hours trying to request another social security card for Juan, since his was stolen a while back, so that is a small hang up, but we are hoping things will move smoothly. The man that came to talk to us seemed nice and we are praying for whatever child God has waiting for us.

Prayer Request

John Urban Sr, my brother-in-law's father, passed away last night. I just wanted to ask those that read my blog to pray for him and his family. Thanks.
