It was about time!

Sebastian was mistaken for a little girl the other night while wearing his Gramps costume. So today I gave him a haircut. At least I didn't use a bowl...

I walked into the living room to tell Sebastian that it was time to go get Evi, and he was fast asleep with both dogs. I love that Ruby is just letting him lay on her.

Granny & Gramps

Here they are! Sebastian won a $5 gift card for his costume, and there were 2 other grannies that won a prize, but Evi was a good sport, and even took Gramps to get his prize. They had fun, and Evi kept asking for prunes instead of candy. People got a kick out of that.

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch. They rode a horse and played a couple gamed and each picked out two small pumpkins. Evi was upset that I let Sebastian put his pumpkins up to his eyes, and I made her take hers down. I explained that she was holding hers against her chest, and it just didn't look right, and so she wanted a do-over, so she got a picture with pumpkin glasses.

Hubba Bubba

I'm glad I did not hear: " Mom, how do you get gum out of your hair?"

Halloween Costume

I was laughing so hard while trying to take this picture. I think it's because Sebastian's eyelashes look so big because of the prescription in the glasses, and he just looks so funny. He is going to be a Grandpa for Halloween, and I found these at the Goodwill. I ended up taking the lenses out, but I had to get a picture of him first.

Tonight something happened to my little man. Some of you know that he stutters quite a bit. He is shy to begin with, but he doesn't like talking to people because he says he stutters. I took him to a speech therapist and she said that many kids stutter, and that most grow out of it, and not to interrupt him or finish his sentences. So we have been working on that.
Well at dinner tonight, Juan asked who would like to pray. Sebastian said he did, so we all closed our eyes to pray, and he began:
" Tank you Jesus for our food, bla bla bla bla bla bla bla blass dis food, Amen." During the bla bla part, we thought he was trying to be silly, and Juan, Evi and I exchanged looks, thinking that he was being disrespectful, and all along he was asking Jesus to bless our food. I almost cried. I don't want to make a big deal out of it, but I feel that he senses that he does it, and it bothers him. Anyone have any ideas on how to help him stop stuttering and helping him be more social?

Politically Speaking

My friend Rachel gave us a sign to put in our yard. Yes, we are voting for McCain/Palin. So, a couple of days after we put up our sign, our neighbor across the street put up the signs. Juan came in and said "___ put up 7 Obama signs in his yard". Me: "Seven??"
So the next day I look and there is five Obama signs. Juan says he counted seven, so he might have taken some down. I wondered if he felt threatened by my one sign, that he felt the need to let the rest of the neighbors know that majority rules maybe?? Who knows. When mentioning this to my sister she said I should blog about it. I had to wait for him to go to work to get the picture, but here it is count them. Five Obama signs. Does anyone have a bunch of McCain signs that I can borrow just to make him mad??

Painting Pumpkins

I laughed when I saw my friend Terra's blog. She made a football and baseball with her pumpkins. We just mixed colors and don't have a real pattern going on. I guess the purpose is to have fun.

Fall is Here

I love Fall. It means Winter is coming soon. I love the colors, the smells, the coolness. I love a lot of things. Here are some of the things I love.

I love that Sebastian has his daddy's curls.

I love that mowing season is coming to an end, and I'll see more of my husband.. who I also love.

I love that Evi will do anything for a laugh.. especially in the Goodwill store with people watching.

I love when my kids play nicely together

I love that Evi has a cousin that she is best friends with. Here they are at Cloverbuds, painting pumpkins for the nursing home.

Joel

Joel is my brother, and he came over to see my mom. We went out for sushi, and then to The Farm for my mom to get a belated birthday gift.
Something happened at one of the stores there. I was in Hallmark, getting Von a Card while my mom was getting a massage. I had both kids with me and we were in the card isle looking at Get Well cards, when an "older" woman came along and was looking too.
All of the sudden, I hear a loud rip, toot, gas whatever you want to call it, coming from the "older" woman. I turn thinking it was Sebastian, since he was the closest to her, and I saw a look of horror on his face, and he was staring right at where the sound came from. I was scared that he would say " Momma, that lady fawted" or " It's stinky", so I grabbed both my kids and made a run to a different place in the store away from " Senior Citizen Gas Lady".
We laughed about that one all day. I wish I could have captured Sebastians face when that happened.
Also this week I was able to attend the birth of two babies. One on Tuesday, one on Friday. Both boys had great adoptive parents waiting to take them home!

Zoo Day with Oma

There is an earthquake simulator at the zoo, and the kids love getting jiggled around. I think the sign meant " Four people, give or take a few"

Cousins. I wish I had a cousin to be friends with. Liesel and Evi have become such great friends! We love having someone to swap sleep-over's with.

My favorite zoo animal. Not too exciting, I know. I think it's because she always is either pregnant or has a new baby. Here she has #16 on her belly.

We told all the kids that we would ride the train, since it was starting to sprinkle, and we were all tired, but when we got to the train depot, it was closed. Evidently, no one rides trains after 3pm. So we all got soaked trying to get back to the car. We made a memory, that's for sure! Even Ava had her hair all plastered on her head. We were laughing so hard!

Prayer request

This is Von. He is my oldest brother Jason's three year old son. Yesterday he was diagnosed with Leukemia. This is a shock to the whole family, and we have been praying for him, and also for his Mom, Dad, and three sisters. There are decisions to be made, and we pray that God will speak to them, and show them the next step in this journey.
Von is three, and I'm sure he quite can't figure out why everyone is poking him, and why he is in the hospital. He had his first round of chemo yesterday, and I would like to ask for this family to be in your prayers. Thanks.

Evi's new horse, Red Rain

Riding Lessons

Our on the Jones' Ranch

Marley is the youngest of the Jones' girls. Here she is with Bo.

Red Rain

We have a couple at out church that are country folk. Jake & Alisa have 3 daughters, and they have several horses (like 15).
Every Sunday, Evi will go to Mr. Jake and ask him about his horses. Several weeks ago, Jake came to Juan and I and told us that he wants to give Evi a horse. The thing is we didn't tell Evi. The horse is still a baby, and she won't be able to ride her for a couple years, and we needed to find a place to keep her. We called several places and talked to Jake and Alisa, and decided that we would keep Red Rain at their place during the winter, and then move her in the spring. Last night, I was looking at pictures of the horse, and Sebastian said, "Look Evi, there's your horse!", and Evi said, "That's not my horse, she's Mr. Jakes horse". So today we will go and spend the day with Red Rain and learn how to take care of a horse, and Evi will learn that she is a horse owner! Stay tuned for more pictures.

Frankster

We found this ugly dog about 5 years ago, and he has been the best pet. Not easy on the eyes, but overall a good pet. He puts up with anything. Evi needs to sleep with him every night, and Sebastian is always doing things to the guy/dog. Poor baby.
Anyway... today I was checking e-mail, and Sebastian runs in and says " Mama, please come, it's SO funny!!"
Backtracking a little, I put a baseball cap on Sebastian this morning, because he has a fro going on, and Juan doesn't want me to cut it. So I slapped a hat on him to go out in public. Well... this is what he thought was SO funny.
