Red Rain

We have a couple at out church that are country folk. Jake & Alisa have 3 daughters, and they have several horses (like 15).
Every Sunday, Evi will go to Mr. Jake and ask him about his horses. Several weeks ago, Jake came to Juan and I and told us that he wants to give Evi a horse. The thing is we didn't tell Evi. The horse is still a baby, and she won't be able to ride her for a couple years, and we needed to find a place to keep her. We called several places and talked to Jake and Alisa, and decided that we would keep Red Rain at their place during the winter, and then move her in the spring. Last night, I was looking at pictures of the horse, and Sebastian said, "Look Evi, there's your horse!", and Evi said, "That's not my horse, she's Mr. Jakes horse". So today we will go and spend the day with Red Rain and learn how to take care of a horse, and Evi will learn that she is a horse owner! Stay tuned for more pictures.

Frankster

We found this ugly dog about 5 years ago, and he has been the best pet. Not easy on the eyes, but overall a good pet. He puts up with anything. Evi needs to sleep with him every night, and Sebastian is always doing things to the guy/dog. Poor baby.
Anyway... today I was checking e-mail, and Sebastian runs in and says " Mama, please come, it's SO funny!!"
Backtracking a little, I put a baseball cap on Sebastian this morning, because he has a fro going on, and Juan doesn't want me to cut it. So I slapped a hat on him to go out in public. Well... this is what he thought was SO funny.

Sneaky

Here is a picture of Sebastian holding a rather large bug. He was helping me in the yard and we found it.
As for the other picture... I kissed him goodnight and prayed for him. He asked me for a snack. Usually that means, I'm trying to avoid going to sleep, so by eating I can stay up later.
So I told him that he could have pancakes for breakfast, and that he already brushed teeth, and that the kitchen was already closed for the night. When I went in to check on him, I realizes that he sneaked a GoGurt from the fridge, and by the looks of it, fell asleep while eating his bedtime snack.

"Where is my Sebastian?"

There is nothing like when Oma is in town. Oma is Grandma Roberta, and this morning as I was taking Evi to school, I was praying for her in the car. I also prayed for Oma's safe travel as she will be coming Colorado for her mothers 90th birthday, and she will stop in to see us too.
When I was done praying, I heard Sebastian say, " Oma says.. Where is my Sebastian?" She always says that to him, and he remembers that she always wants to know where he is.
Oma, we anxiously wait your arrival. Maybe this will give you a little guilt trip to move to Oklahoma!

Caleb

I have posted about Caleb before, but I had to share this. Thursday night, I called the kids in from the back yard, and when Sebastian came in he asked if Caleb was here.
Me: " No son, Caleb isn't here, it's just time to come in"
Seb: "But I want he to come"
Me: " Well.. he is at his house"
Seb:" But I want he to come"
Me: " We can have him over some time, ok?"

Just then Caleb called and I told him about the conversation I had had with Sebastian. He said that he was wanting to come over. So, the kids got to spend some time with Caleb. He helped Evi with her math homework, and did the famous magic trick of pulling money out of Sebastians ear. Then Sebastian did the same magic trick on him.
Then we had Ava spend the night on Friday night, and Evi spent the night with Liesel, and I heard she caught a fish! . Ava is so sweet! I bathed her after breakfast, and as she was in the tub, and Sebastian came in and said "Momma, she so beautiful!" I was able to go to my friend Terra's baby shower for a little bit before someone made a stinky diaper!

Zoo Day

Today we went to the zoo with Mollie and Brayden. We had so much fun! When Mollie saw the giant fish, she said her Pappy would eat the whole thing! I asked her as we were leaving what her favorite part was and she said she thought it would be riding the carousel. So after that comment we went to ride it. Considering we had 3 three year olds, we managed just fine. Here are some pictures of our day.

Why Did Jesus Cross the River?

Yesterday, Sebastian was reading me his New Testament that Aunt Donita gave him, and he said he would tell me a story. He told me about how Jesus and Mary Poppins were walking and saw a boat, and then he said "Why you tink Jesus crossed the river?" Evi said " To get to the other side?" I guess she thought it was a joke, and Sebastian said " It's cause he wanted to go home."
Pretty deep. Jesus crossed the river to go home. We are encouraging our kids to pray. It doesn't have to be at meal time or bed time, but whenever you need to talk to Him. The other night after we kissed our kids and put them in bed, Juan went in to ask if Sebastian had talked to Jesus, and Sebastian said yes, Juan asked what he talked to Jesus about, and Sebastian said " I not gonna tell you". I love that I have no clue as to what was talked about, and that my kids talk to Jesus!
