Evi was asked to have a sleep-over last night with her cousin, Liesel. So we figured since the girls hadn't seen each other in a while it was a good idea. This morning Liesel called to ask if Evi could go with her to a function at her church, and we said yes.
Today Evi got home and she was tired and hungry. She told me she had a lot of fun, and that she was busy all day. As I was giving Sebastian a bath, Evi showed me her bruise on her knee that she got while skating. She said, " Mom, do you know what Liesel did today?"
"No, what did she do?"
" She went to ask for an ice pack for me after I fell, and she had to go all the way around the skating rink to ask for it"
I love that Evi has a cousin like Liesel. Someone who would go searching for an ice pack after a fall, someone to have over for sleep-overs, someone to listen to I-pod shuffles with, and someone to be a friend.
I was telling Juan's family that the girls didn't always get along, but now they are best friends. I am glad to have a niece like Liesel, and hope that Evi can be as good of a friend to her as she is to Evi.

Big train
We went to a train museum in the town where Juan grew up. We went with his Uncle, two of his Aunts, and 3 cousins. Juan says that this train station is the biggest in the whole wide world, his words, not mine. He said that at this station was where all the trains were serviced and repaired.

New Nephew
The newest member to Juan's family is Elian Gael. He is the son of Juan's youngest brother, Ernesto and Nelly. I wanted to get a picture of all of the family since Juan's oldest brother, Arturo and his wife Monica are expecting a little boy in September, but we were never all together at once. They were kind enough to let us stay with them, and we enjoy spending time with them. They are going to be great parents, and this will be Monica's parents first grandchild. So.. our kids are no longer the only grandkids, and we are excited about the growth of the family.

On My Way
We will be leaving tomorrow to start heading back to the States. I will travel about 7 hours to my in-laws, and Juan will fly in on Wednesday. We will be there till Sunday, and start heading back. We will be arriving with Juan's Uncle and Grandmother. I hope my house is clean! Please pray for safe travel and for health, since we are all recovering from something or other. Sebastian asked Juan to pack his bed, my dishes and Frankie, because he wants to come live here.

Feeling Sick
Well, for the last 5 days, I haven't been able to eat or drink anything. My throat swelled up to the point that I couldn't even swallow my spit. I went to two different doctors and they just gave us more medicine. So finally, today I am feeling better. For my first meal after 5 days, I had half of a banana, and half of a cup of chocolate milk. Not because I wanted it, but because the new medicine we have needs to be taken with food, and I still can't open my mouth to full capacity. I guess its better than having the runs....actually its not. Anyway, now that I am feeling better, I can post more.

Sleepover
We had a sleepover with 21 people in mom's house last night. She had 9 from Veracruz that stayed here along with Jason and Lisa's 4 kids. She was sick, so mom offered to watch them, so she had 21 total. The kids had fun sleeping in the living room. Evi and myself have been sick. I have an infection in my throat, but I went to the doctor and he gave me some shots that mom is giving me, and some pills. Evi threw up today, but is feeling better.

Here is some pictures of some of the things that we saw while we were at the camp. Funny story about the monkeys..
The kids and I were monkey watching, and the monkey urinated. Sebastian looked at me and said, "Mom, he didn't shake it off".
We saw baby robins that looked to me like they were too big to be in a nest, and the chicken looked like it had a roman helmet on. The kids had fun sliding and swinging, and when I went looking for Evi, I found her in the kitchen cleaning beans.

Trip to Youth Camp
We had a 4 hour drive to Nachatlita to where the camp was. The kids had fun. We had a little car sickness, and there was a great view.

We were at the store buying groceries for our camping trip and I saw this. Isn't this against health regulations?

Evi's Horse Riding Lessons
Evi has been having so much fun. She is learning the care of horses and how to ride properly. Who knew there was such a thing? Anyway, she is having so much fun, and that is all that she can talk about. She has been going with Jason & Lisa's girls.

How Did She Do That Soup
I love my mom. For those that know her, you know that she is a very great hostess, and always serving others. Well, last night we Graeme's friend fly in and mom was going to make some soup. So, my mom throws in the leftover potato casserole, some milk, some powdered milk and some more leftovers, and all of the sudden she has this great soup! How does she do that??

His One and Only Truck Ride
I wondered if this sheep was thinking.. "Finally my owner is taking me cruising!!" Only to be taken to the slaughter house. Poor guy.

Fried Crickets Anyone?
Evi surprised me by being one of the first to want to try fried crickets. Someone ordered some and she jumped at the opportunity. What surprised me was that it was at a nice restaurant with a great view. Anyway, she said they were good and had several more, but I wasn't that brave.

Sunday
At church it was cute to see all the kids dancing in the front. Since they didn't know the words it gave them something to do, and Oma even got them some little banners to wave. After church we all went to the lake for a boat ride.

Hair Cut
I finally cut Sebastians hair. It was getting pretty long, and to encourage him to do it, I told him we could give his hair to the birds. So after cutting it, he went out to the balcony and threw his hair over, so the birds could make a soft nest out of it.
